Islamic Banking at ADCB
The Islamic Banking business at ADCB is managed under the “ADCB Meethaq” brand, offering Shari’ah compliant financial solutions. It is an independently managed business comprising Islamic Banking Department (IBD) a business unit of ADCB and Abu Dhabi Commercial Islamic Finance PJSC (ADCIF) a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of ADCB. The Islamic Banking business is regulated by the UAE Central Bank and supervised by an independent Fatwa and Shari’ah Supervisory Board.
ADCB Meethaq brand
“ADCB Meethaq” is our flagship brand under which we offer focused and differentiated retail and corporate Shari’ah compliant financial solutions to individual and corporate customers through the Islamic Banking Department of ADCB and Abu Dhabi Commercial Islamic Finance Company (ADCIF). “ADCB Meethaq” is the common brand under which all Shari’ah compliant products and services of ADCB are offered.
Islamic Banking Department (IBD)
The Islamic Banking Department of ADCB started operations in September 2008 after receiving license from the UAE Central Bank. The Islamic Banking Department is subject to the supervision of UAE Central Bank and the Fatwa and Shariah Supervisory Board.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Islamic Finance (ADCIF)
Abu Dhabi Commercial Islamic Finance PJSC (ADCIF) is majority owned by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB). It is a private joint stock Islamic Finance Company with a paid up capital of AED 200 million. ADCIF is subject to the supervision of UAE Central Bank, an independent accounting firm, as well as, the Fatwa and Shariah Supervisory Board. ADCIF was established in June 2009 after obtaining license from the UAE Central Bank.

IBD and ADCIF complement each other by offering congruence in functionality while giving customers a host of choices. Addressing every customer segment; this provides augmented product propositions via the (wealth / multiplicity /array/ diversity ) of Islamic Financing Contracts.
